Privacy Policy

Your account

The app creates an account the first time you open it. There is no sign-up form. The account is a random token, generated on our server and kept in your device's Keychain. It is not your Apple ID and not derived from your device.

Signing in

Sharing a list with someone else requires signing in. We store the identifier your provider gives us, and your email address if the provider releases it. The email is used to identify your account and to contact you about the service. It is not used for marketing.

Homes and listings

When you share a listing into the app, we store its web address and fetch the page for the details — price, size, photos, nearby amenities. We record the price each time we check. We store the stage you put each home at and whether you decided to pursue it.

Viewings

We store the times you request and schedule, the status of the booking, and any notes you write. Notes are free text. Anyone you have shared the list with can read them.

Notifications

If you turn notifications on, Apple gives us a push token for your device. We use it for viewing reminders and listing changes. Turn them off in iOS Settings and we stop sending.

Website

The form on the home page stores your email address and the page it came from. It is used to tell you when the app is available. There is no newsletter.

Analytics

Be Your Own Agent does not use analytics or tracking, in the app or on this website. There are no third-party SDKs in the app. We do not ask for your location, contacts, photos, or calendar, and there are no advertising identifiers.

Third-party services

The app runs on Google Cloud Platform in Singapore, and the database is hosted there. Notifications are delivered by Apple. Your sign-in provider knows that you signed in. Nobody else. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Listing content

Listing details come from the public listing page you shared. That information is published by the portal and the agent, not by us, and it may be out of date. Listing content belongs to whoever published it. Email us to have a listing removed from our cache.

Keeping and deleting data

Your homes, viewings and notes stay until you ask us to delete them. To delete your account and everything attached to it, email support@beyourownagent.app. We delete it within 30 days and confirm when it is done.

Deleting the app does not delete your data from the server. Email us if you want it gone.

Security

Traffic between the app and our server is encrypted. Your account token is held in the iOS Keychain, not in ordinary app storage, so other apps cannot read it.

Children

The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.

Changes

If we change what we collect, we update this page and the date above. Significant changes are announced in the app.
